Ann , Did you ever receive a picture of the Striet slumber chair's adjustment piece. I too am having trouble with getting it set correctly. Don't know if a piece is broken off or not. Thanks gerard

I have two and thanks to you I learned something new. I had never turned them upside down and when they were reupholstered I wasn't told they had numbers under the seat. The first one I got was my grandfathers reading chair and it's dated Oct. 27, 1947, (Oct. 27th is my husbands birthday) The second one I found in a yard sale just last month and it's dated Sept. 21, 1939, (my grandmother's is Sept. 21st) Thank you for this grand find.

I have a Streit Slumber chair, do not know when it was made, , I got it out of a dumpster after an auction, I could see that it was a good quality piece, had it re- springed and upholstered. Do not have the stool. Triangle shaped name plate is still on the back with the words "STREIT Quality since 1871".

You should try turning them black and white. Given a decent amount of contrast, I reckon they'd probably look even creepier. Especially that top one - that looks fucking fiendish.
