I had never turned them upside down and when they were reupholstered I wasn't told they had numbers under the seat. The first one I got was my grandfathers reading chair and it's dated Oct. 27, 1947, (Oct. 27th is my husbands birthday) The second one I found in a yard sale just last month and it's dated Sept. 21, 1939, (my grandmother's is Sept. 21st) Thank you for this grand find. Do not have the stool. Triangle shaped name plate is still on the back with the words "STREIT Quality since 1871".
